Why compose electronic music?

There are many good reasons for doing this. Money is one of them - a good composer can definitely earn some cold cash - but for us that should not be very highly ranked on our 'why do we compose' list of reasons. Well, not for the time being ;)

Actually, composing music is great fun!

Like any creative process I imagine, to create something unique from nothing is rewarding and makes you feel good about yourself.

The cost is so low (provided you already have a PC).

Easy to get started. You do not need to have knowledge of music theory or other difficult stuff. If you have a computer, can logon to it, know what a web browser is and write an occasional document in Word, I would argue you are ready to get started.

There are virtually no limits to what you can compose. That't the great thing with electronic music. You are not bound to your two hands playing a live instrument and neither do you need to book a world famous orchestra (to produce world famous sounds).

You are not alone! There is a wealth of resources on the Internet that can help you creating your own masterpiece.
